How You Will Make An Impact
- Manage electrical controls projects from design coordination and estimating through field execution, startup, and closeout.
- Oversee controls wiring connecting computer-based systems to equipment, sensors, panels, and field devices within industrial plants.
- Coordinate electrical and controls scopes with refrigeration project managers, engineers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and customers.
- Establish project budgets and manage labor, materials, subcontractor costs, billing, schedules, forecasts, and profitability.
- Interpret controls drawings, electrical diagrams, specifications, proposals, and contractual documentation.
- Provide layout, design coordination, constructability input, and engineering support.
- Prepare and manage estimates, change orders, cost reports, invoices, schedules, and project documentation.
- Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress and coordinate manpower, materials, safety, quality, and customer expectations.
- Lead electrical superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel assigned to projects.
- Build strong customer and subcontractor relationships while serving as a trusted company representative.
- Support business development efforts and help identify opportunities to expand the electrical division.
- Contribute to the long-term development of the team, processes, and capabilities of the electrical department.
- Operate with a high degree of independence while remaining accountable for project and departmental results.
- Promote safe work practices across all assigned projects and job sites.
Do You Have the Expertise to Lead in Electrical Controls Project Delivery?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant electrical project management, engineering, construction, or industrial controls experience.
- Direct experience with controls wiring, instrumentation, industrial automation, or similar systems connecting computer controls to field devices.
- Experience working within industrial plants, process environments, refrigeration facilities, or comparable technical settings.
- Strong understanding of electrical controls systems, drawings, diagrams, equipment, and safety requirements.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, labor, materials, schedules, billing, forecasts, and change orders.
- Electrical estimating experience.
- Ability to manage several active projects while maintaining cost, schedule, quality, and client commitments.
- Experience leading project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, or field teams.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in an autonomous, non-micromanaged environment.
- Strong leadership judgment and the potential to assume broader departmental responsibility.
- Professional Engineer license strongly preferred.
- Design-build construction experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ConEst, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms is beneficial.
- Ability to work onsite in Monroe, North Carolina, five days per week.
- Willingness to travel to project sites approximately one or two days per week.
