About the Role: The Application Specialist supports Kistler’s growth in the plastics market by combining technical expertise with customer-facing support. This role is responsible for responding to technical inquiries, advising customers on optimal product use, and ensuring successful implementation and support of Kistler’s measurement solutions. Through close collaboration with customers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders, the Application Specialist helps deliver innovative technologies that improve industrial processes and drive competitive advantage.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and application support to customers, both remotely and on-site.
  • Advise customers on the proper use and integration of Kistler products, including software, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
  • Support software/data-related tasks such as configuration, CSV file handling, OPC UA, and TCP/IP communications.
  • Assist with installations, system set-ups, and functional testing to validate performance post-installation.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, amplifiers, and data acquisition systems to resolve field issues.
  • Coordinate with Sales Managers and Product Managers to address unique customer requirements and develop customized solutions.
  • Identify new application opportunities and contribute to proposal development for special projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Kistler products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Create training materials, application notes, and technical content for internal teams and customers.
  • Document and report on customer interactions and technical support activities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred; Associate degree with relevant experience also considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in data acquisition, process engineering, or technical sales in the plastics industry.
  • Familiarity with pressure sensors, signal conditioning electronics, and related software (preferred).
  • Experience with configuring and validating measurement chains and controls for plastics processing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of software integration, network communication protocols (TCP/IP, OPC UA), and data handling.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills for electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout the U.S. for customer support.
