Job Description

Network and Connectivity

  • Administer switching, routing, wireless, and firewall infrastructure across all clinic and pharmacy locations.
  • Maintain the inter-site connectivity and carrier circuits that deliver EHR access, and manage carrier relationships and fault escalation.
  • Perform in-house network monitoring, respond first to infrastructure alerts, and escalate issues that put clinical availability at risk.
  • Plan and carry out changes through formal change management, including maintenance windows, testing, and rollback plans.
  • Keep network documentation current, and analyze capacity and performance to recommend upgrades.

Phone Systems and Unified Communications

  • Administer the phone platform across all sites, including handsets, extensions, hunt groups, and voicemail.
  • Configure patient access call routing, queues, and after-hours routing, including support for pharmacy operations.
  • Manage electronic fax services and ensure clinical and administrative faxes reach the right destinations.
  • Maintain voice continuity and failover, coordinate with carriers on voice circuit faults, and support operational reporting.

Servers, Storage, and Business Continuity

  • Maintain on-premises and cloud servers, storage, virtualization, and Microsoft 365 infrastructure.
  • Administer backup and recovery, verify backup completion, and perform periodic restore testing.
  • Take part in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing, including clinical downtime scenarios.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 Tenant directory services, certificates, and core infrastructure services, and apply patches and firmware updates on a set schedule.

Security

  • Implement network segmentation, including isolation of medical devices and imaging equipment.
  • Apply compensating controls for devices that cannot be patched on a normal cycle.
  • Maintain firewall rules, remote access, network access controls, and infrastructure audit logging.
  • Support HIPAA security assessments, penetration tests, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.

Support and Coverage

  • Serve as the escalation point for network, connectivity, server, and phone issues from the service desk.
  • Provide elevated coverage during upgrades, releases, and go-lives, and support network and voice setup for new sites and equipment.

What You Bring

Required

  • Three or more years of experience administering network infrastructure in a multi-site environment.
  • Working knowledge of switching, routing, wireless, firewall administration, and network monitoring.
  • Experience administering servers, storage, backup, and directory services.
  • Experience managing carrier or circuit provider relationships, including fault escalation.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to take part in an after-hours support rotation and to travel among our three clinic locations. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Preferred

  • Healthcare experience, especially in a multi-site ambulatory setting.
  • Experience with a VoIP or unified communications platform, including contact center and call routing configuration.
  • Experience segmenting networks for medical devices.
  • Experience supporting connectivity to an externally hosted or shared EHR.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Azure Network Engineer or a comparable vendor credential.

Who Thrives Here

You understand that uptime is patient care and set priorities accordingly. You can trace a fault across internal infrastructure, carrier circuits, and an external hosting provider, and you hold each party accountable for its part. You take change management seriously, you implement security requirements as written, and you give clinical staff and leadership clear, realistic updates during an outage. Our team works with integrity, trust, respect, kindness, and professionalism, and we look for colleagues who share those values.

Physical Requirements

This role is performed in office and clinical settings. It requires lifting and positioning equipment up to 50 pounds, and bending, kneeling, reaching, and crouching during installation and service work. Occasional work outside standard hours is required for maintenance windows and incident response.
