Job Description

Job Description Your day, built around precision

You begin by opening the work order kit, verifying the latest print revision and bill of materials, and confirming your tools and fixtures match the job. With the layout board prepped, you translate customer drawings and work instructions into precise cable and wire harness builds—cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, routing, and terminating to specification. Every connection you make is documented so the final assembly trace is crystal clear.

We will train you on our assembly process and work instructions. What you bring are steady hands, the discipline to follow drawings, and the judgment to pause and escalate whenever something doesn’t match the print—never forcing a build.

What you’ll do

  • Build electrical cables and harnesses from wiring schematics, blueprints, specs, BOMs, and formal work instructions.
  • Audit the print, revision level, and BOM contents against the parts and tools in your kit before you start.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, route, and terminate wires and connectors to defined workmanship standards.
  • Solder connections to industry criteria to ensure strength, reliability, and clean finishes.
  • Use fixtures and build aids to position components and assemble sub-assemblies accurately.
  • Self-inspect as you go, measuring against quality standards and stopping to alert a supervisor if drawings, parts, or routing don’t align.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe station and follow PPE guidelines at all times.
  • Record labor time and capture required production/KPI data for each build.
  • Contribute to daily continuous improvement on the line—small changes that add up.

Partnering for clarity

  • Collaborate with supervisors to interpret drawings and resolve discrepancies quickly.
  • Support a clean, organized work area and reinforce safety best practices.

What you bring

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply wiring schematics/diagrams and mechanical/assembly drawings—understanding how each drives a correct harness build.
  • Hands-on soldering experience to industry workmanship criteria (preferably IPC/WHMA-A-610).

Bonus skills (preferred)

  • 2–3 years of cable or wire harness assembly experience.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 quality standards is a plus, not a requirement.

Physical demands

  • Remain seated or standing for extended periods doing repetitive tasks.
  • Move around to gather materials; reach overhead and to low positions as needed.
  • Frequent repetitive hand/arm motions for crimping, soldering, stripping, and handling small components.
  • Routinely lift, carry, push, or pull 20–30 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs with assistance or mechanical aids.
  • Vision: close focus, color differentiation, depth perception, and adjustable focus.
  • Hearing: understand instructions, alarms, and safety signals; communicate clearly with teammates. Hearing protection may be required in high-noise areas.
  • Dexterity to detect, grasp, and manipulate small parts.
  • Work around moderate noise and soldering fumes; PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection may be required and is provided.

Your core proficiencies

  • Electrical Schematics
  • Soldering
  • Equipment Installation & Wiring
