Responsibilities:
- Installation and Deployment:

- Install and deploy fiber optic cables, including both aerial and underground installations, following company standards and safety protocols.
- Splicing and Terminations:

- Perform fiber optic splicing, terminations, and connectorization to ensure proper signal transmission and connectivity.
- Testing and Troubleshooting:

- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables and systems using specialized equipment such as OTDRs and optical power meters to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintenance and Repairs:

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fiber optic infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of fiber optic installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including cable routes, splice locations, and test results.
- Safety Compliance:

- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working with fiber optic cables, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Customer Interaction:

- Interact with customers professionally and courteously, addressing their inquiries and concerns related to fiber optic services.
- Collaboration:

- Collaborate with team members, including project managers, engineers, and other technicians, to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Continuous Learning:

- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to fiber optics through training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in fiber optics preferred.
- Proven experience working as a fiber optic technician or in a related field.
- Proficiency in fiber optic splicing, terminations, and testing techniques.
- Familiarity with fiber optic equipment and tools, including fusion splicers, cleavers, and OTDRs.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic cabling standards and protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions and environments.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
