Job DescriptionIT Systems Administrator

This role supports a growing organization by managing and improving core IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and providing senior-level technical support and escalation. The IT Systems Administrator partners closely with IT leadership on infrastructure initiatives, oversees outsourced technical services in a co-managed environment, and ensures systems are secure, well-documented, and proactively maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and support infrastructure initiatives involving servers, networks, endpoints, and hardware refresh projects.
* Oversee third-party technical service providers in a co-managed model, ensuring configuration quality and security alignment.
* Review system configurations, logs, capacity metrics, and baseline audits; identify and escalate gaps.
* Own implementation and management of modern endpoint tools, including enrollment, compliance, patching, and application deployment.
* Maintain build standards, system images, and endpoint documentation.
* Manage endpoint patch compliance and produce health and remediation reports.
* Oversee full hardware lifecycle including acquisition, deployment, warranty tracking, and retirement.
* Audit backup coverage and perform restore testing.
* Review firewall rules, VPN posture, and endpoint protection alerts.
* Serve as Tier-3 escalation during business hours and mentor helpdesk staff.
* Maintain accurate system documentation and perform proactive maintenance.

Requirements:
* Comfortable with working onsite Monday through Friday, 8:30-5pm. This role does not offer hybrid work options and is only available to candidates within a commutable distance of West Deptford, New Jersey.
* 4-7 years of experience in systems administration or advanced technical support.
* Strong experience with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID, and Intune.
* Working knowledge of Windows Server fundamentals.
* Solid troubleshooting and escalation experience.
* Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
* Experience working with managed service providers or vendors.
* Strong documentation and communication skills.
* Availability to work a standard first-shift business schedule (Monday-Friday, daytime hours).

Preferences:

* Prior experience overseeing MSPs.
* Backup and disaster recovery experience.
* Exposure to security baselines and identity governance.
* Basic scripting or automation using PowerShell.
