About the Role

IREX seeks a Senior Technical Specialist to support digital safety, online safety, and cybersecurity-related programming within the Global Impact Hub. This role will contribute to programs and initiatives that help government, corporate and other community partners strengthen their resilience, reduce online and digital risks, and participate safely and confidently in digital spaces.

The Senior Technical Specialist will provide hands-on program, operational, technical, and coordination support across a portfolio of digital and online safety work. This includes supporting program delivery, partner and participant engagement, trainings and events, research and content development, reporting, compliance, and financial and procurement processes. The role will also contribute to IREX’s broader growth and positioning in online safety by helping translate program learning, tools, and technical approaches into clear materials that support proposals, donor engagement, and new partnership opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Program Operations & Coordination: Coordinate digital and online safety activities, including trainings, workshops, and technical assistance. Maintain workplans, trackers, program records, and reports, and support monitoring, evaluation, learning, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Partner, Participant & Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate communication and follow-up with partners, participants, consultants, vendors, and colleagues. Support engagement with partner organizations, technical partners, and other stakeholders working to strengthen digital resilience and safer online participation.
  • Communications, Events & Content Support: Support trainings, events, and other learning activities. Develop and refine program materials, presentations, reports, knowledge products, and practical tools that communicate IREX’s approaches and results.
  • Finance, Procurement & Grant Support: Support payments, procurement, agreements, budgets and consultant, vendor, and grant documentation. Maintain accurate, organized records in line with IREX policies and donor requirements.
  • Growth & New Business Support: Support research, writing, and coordination for proposals, concept notes, donor materials, and partnership opportunities. Help develop and deliver presentations and briefings for potential donors and partners, and synthesize program learning, evidence, and technical approaches to strengthen new designs and communicate IREX’s value in digital and online safety.

  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, practical materials for different audiences.
  • Experience developing reports, presentations, training materials, knowledge products, or other program and technical content.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with partners, participants, donors, consultants, and colleagues across different cultures, sectors, and areas of expertise.
