We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Project Controls Specialist in the Los Angeles area. This position requires attention to detail, strong leadership, and organization skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Project Controls and personnel for projects and collaborate with other Project Control Leads to hire and share resources as needed
- Provide support, guidance, and oversight to Cost Controls and personnel during execution of project setup, forecasting, processing change orders, billing, project closeouts, and other duties
- Manage Project Controls project schedules and coordinate with local Division Management to ensure appropriate resources are secured and maintained
- Develop metrics and reports so that accurate and timely information can be provided to management and stakeholders
- Ability to develop new program and project controls processes and procedures related to budgets, estimates, schedules and roll up of program information
- Enter open jobs and phase codes in company ERP as necessary
- Review contract documents and coordinate negotiations between management and customers pertaining to project terms, discounts, rates, etc.
- Troubleshoots project-specific budget, scope, schedule, funding, or documentation issues working with other Divisions, Branches, or Departments
- Additional responsibilities may be required
Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent in years of experience performing work
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in Cost Controls, including planning, budgeting, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, and project reporting
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Program or Project Controls Specialist in a government agency or infrastructure engineering and construction projects
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, Oracle Primavera, Unifier, Timberline, or similar program management software
