We are seeking a hands-on Performance Engineer to work within the AssureCare Quality Assurance department with a team of technical software performance professionals. You will work with your team to ensure our software meets or exceeds customer load and performance Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
The Performance Engineer has 2-4 years of hands-on performance testing experience using a variety of test platforms and is well-versed in performance test development and analysis. In addition to the requisite experience in performance testing and analysis, the Performance Engineer has a background in quality assurance and/or business analysis.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with senior performance engineers and follow instructions thoroughly.
- Design, develop, and execute performance tests.
- Analyze performance test results to identify script errors.
- Monitor applications under test and report on results
- Track performance metrics against customer SLAs
- Work with senior and lead performance team members to continuously monitor and improve system performance.
- Analyze application and service performance across environments using Dynatrace, Elastic, and Azure Monitor.
- Design and optimize dashboards, alerting strategies, and log ingestion pipelines.
- Work within Azure environments, including App Services, Event Hub, and Storage accounts (Blob/ADLS).
- Partner with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to improve observability coverage and response workflows.
Skills / Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience with one or more performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, StresStimulus, JMeter or Neoload.
- Ability to write basic SQL queries for data extraction and verification
- Prefer experience coding in languages such as C#, Java, Python, and JavaScript
Core Technical Skills
- Observability & Monitoring: Dynatrace, Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana), Fluent Bit, Logstash
- Logging Frameworks: NLog (or similar, e.g., Serilog, log4net)
- Cloud Platforms: Azure (App Service, Event Hub, ADLS, Blob Storage)
- Data Engineering Awareness: Databricks basics, SQL fundamentals (SELECT, JOIN, INSERT)
- Scripting/Automation: Basic Python, PowerShell, or Bash helpful
Performance Engineering Competencies
- Experience analyzing application response times, service dependencies, and resource utilization.
- Familiarity with APM concepts — traces, spans, metrics, and logs.
- Understanding of performance testing tools and load analysis concepts (nice to have).
Integration & Troubleshooting Skills
- Ability to trace data through multi-tier systems (app → log pipeline → observability tool → ITSM).
- Knowledge of REST APIs and webhook integrations for alerts or notifications.
- Basic familiarity with CI/CD and Azure DevOps pipelines.
Salary Range: $76,364 - $104,000
