Job Description

Job DescriptionRole Title: Scrum Master
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master who can effectively bridge technology and business teams. The ideal candidate is an Agile expert with strong technical understanding, business acumen, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex initiatives.
This role requires an influential facilitator who can promote Agile best practices, remove delivery obstacles, improve team performance, and ensure alignment between technical execution and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coach development teams, product owners, and business stakeholders on Agile principles and practices.
  • Partner with technical and business teams to translate business priorities into actionable delivery plans.
  • Facilitate collaboration across engineering, product, operations, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Identify and remove impediments that affect delivery, productivity, or team effectiveness.
  • Track sprint progress, dependencies, risks, capacity, velocity, and other Agile delivery metrics.
  • Support product owners in maintaining a prioritized, refined, and delivery-ready product backlog.
  • Promote continuous improvement through data-driven retrospectives and measurable action plans.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and communicate delivery status, risks, and issues to leadership.
  • Protect the team from unnecessary disruptions while maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Help teams adopt mature Agile behaviors rather than simply facilitating ceremonies.
  • Support organizational Agile transformation and standardization initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience working as a Scrum Master in complex technology environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and related delivery practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with software engineers, architects, product teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern technology delivery.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience managing delivery risks, dependencies, and competing business priorities.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work onsite in Houston, Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an enterprise or Agile transformation environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, data initiatives, system integrations, APIs, or enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with multiple Scrum teams or within a scaled Agile framework.
  • Background in project delivery, product management, business analysis, or technology consulting.

Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable discussing technical delivery challenges with engineering teams and business priorities with senior stakeholders. This individual should be a servant leader, Agile coach, facilitator, and delivery partner who can help teams achieve predictable, high-quality outcomes.
