We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to oversee a dynamic team within our state-of-the-art laboratory. This role is pivotal for managing people, schedules, and client-facing issues, with minimal travel required primarily for business development and relationship-building.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the EMC team members, driving daily projects to ensure deadlines are met and safety/quality protocols are followed.
- Interface with clients to discuss current and upcoming projects.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to prepare timely quotes.
- Ensure efficiency and productivity within the assigned area.
- Submit invoicing timely; assist with P&L oversight, including forecasting and managing costs.
- Partner with Sales and Project Management to resolve non-conformance issues.
- Maintain lab safety and cleanliness standards.
- Promote new business opportunities and innovations.
- Communicate schedules and forecasts to management to achieve revenue targets.
- Assist the Engineering Manager and Operations Manager with duties as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience managing a small team, ensuring deadlines are met and handling client/customer-facing issues.
- 4+ years of professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical, supply chain, business management, or a related field.
- Proven aptitude or experience with client/customer-interfacing responsibilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degreed Engineer/technical individual preferred.
- Experience in Lab/Testing/R&D Environment and leading a team.
- Experience in business development/selling, test plans, mechanical testing, and EMC compliance.
- US Citizenship and a clean driving record.
Work Environment
The role is based on-site at the newly renovated lab, with a flexible schedule and a 40-hour work week. Travel comprises about 5% of the time, primarily for interfacing with clients at other facilities. The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
