Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming products or components to confirm specifications by conducting visual and measurement tests. You will create quality reports, analyze data for improvement, and support corrective action responses. Additionally, you will coordinate the calibration of inspection and test equipment and perform inspections using defined inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, and CMM. Your role will include the inspection of electronic assemblies and operating visual inspection devices like X-ray machines. Capturing and registering inspection data using the required system is also a key part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming products or components by confirming specifications.
- Conduct visual and measurement tests.
- Create quality reports and analyze data for improvement.
- Support corrective action responses.
- Coordinate calibration of inspection and test equipment.
- Perform inspections using defined inspection tools (microscope, calipers, CMM, etc.).
- Inspect electronic assemblies.
- Operate visual inspection devices (i.e., X-ray).
- Capture and register inspection data using the required system.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in quality inspection using micrometers and calipers.
- Visual inspection capabilities.
- Knowledge in electronic testing.
- Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-600.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a Quality role.
- Experience in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year experience in electronic assembly, particularly with SMT and thru-hole operations.
- Working knowledge of J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies).
- Knowledge of IPC 7711/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies).
- Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620 (Requirement and Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).

Work Environment
Work in a state-of-the-art 154,000 square feet temperature-controlled facility with over 550 people on site. Benefit from a first shift schedule, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm, and work on 7 SMT lines.

This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
