POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, EBS (Enterprise Business Systems) and IT is a strategic leader responsible for bridging high-level digital vision with operational execution. This leader drives both the long-term technology roadmap and the day-to-day performance of the company’s software ecosystem, including internal IT infrastructure, enterprise business systems (ERP/EBS), cloud services and distribution platforms. We use an architecture that combines a standard ERP at the core (SAP B1) with several API additions.
The Director, EBS and IT leads the organization’s enterprise technology strategy with a strong focus on modernizing ERP/EBS systems and optimizing the technology environment that supports core business operations. Partnering closely with the CFO and executive stakeholders, the Director, EBS and IT ensures that technology investments deliver secure, scalable, efficient, and business-aligned solutions that support both current needs and future growth. The position will develop and manage the technical roadmap.
As a key member of the leadership team reporting to the President, the Director, EBS and IT will spearhead the company’s digital transformation initiatives with a keen eye to meeting business needs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. This role ensures that technology capabilities directly enable growth, operational excellence, and competitive advantage within the nutraceutical industry.
This position requires exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners. The Director EBS and IT generally works Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but may be required to work on an altered schedule in order to meet the needs of the business. This position is in Olympia, WA, and local travel to other company locations and training seminars may be required from time to time. Work responsibilities herein represent typical elements and criteria considered necessary to perform the job successfully. Other duties may be assigned to meet emerging business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain a multi-year enterprise business systems and technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and evolving business needs.
- Serve as the business owner for the enterprise applications portfolio, establishing governance process for system enhancements, prioritization, user access, change requests, and release management.
- Lead administration, enhancement, and continuous optimization of core enterprise systems, including the ERP (SAP Business One), integrations, upgrades, patches and releases.
- Own the performance, availability, and reliability of enterprise technology systems, ensuring they consistently support business operations with minimal disruption, meet defined service levels, and evolve to address changing business needs.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce standards for IT and enterprise systems documentation, including system configurations, integrations, processes, workflows, support procedures, change logs, vendor information, and knowledge transfer materials to ensure continuity, scalability, and effective cross-functional support.
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and other functional leaders to gather and translate business requirements into scalable, effective technology solutions.
- Manage and develop a high-performing IT team, establishing clear priorities, service standards, and accountability. Build a culture of documentation, process discipline, and knowledge sharing across the IT function.
- Oversee cybersecurity and risk management program, ensuring regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and ongoing system protection.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants and technology partners to ensure performance, cost efficiency, and service quality. Negotiate and monitor pricing, support parameters, and service level commitments.
- Engage stakeholders across the organization to identify and implement opportunities to optimize business processes through technology and automation.
- Develop and execute change management and communication plans for major technology initiatives to ensure alignment, transparency, and adoption.
- Lead user acceptance testing, training, change management, communication, and adoption efforts for new systems, enhancements, and process improvements.
- Design, implement, maintain and regularly test business continuity and disaster recovery strategies to ensure operational resilience
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, simplify systems, and reduce organizational complexity.
- Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership team to align technology investments with financial plans and strategic priorities.
- Own and monitor IT budgeting and financial management, ensuring disciplined investment prioritization, cost transparency, and ROI alignment.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and implement AI, automation and emerging technologies, ensuring responsible use, data integrity, scalability, and measurable business impact.
- Ensure successful delivery of technology projects on time, within scope, and with high quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, documentation, and high performance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience leading enterprise business systems, ERP platforms, and IT functions, preferably within manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or food and beverage environments.
- Demonstrated expertise administering and optimizing ERP systems, with preference for SAP Business One or comparable platforms.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional enterprise systems initiatives, including ERP implementations, upgrades, integrations, and digital transformation efforts
- Proven ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and long-term infrastructure plans.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes across finance, supply chain, and commercial operations, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Experience managing enterprise application portfolios, including ERP, CRM, e-commerce, warehouse management, business intelligence, and related systems.
- Demonstrated experience with systems integration, workflow automation, master data management, and data governance practices.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to executive stakeholders.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, budgeting and coordination of people and resources
- Advanced skill in developing tools, programs and services. Ability to develop informative and succinct management status reporting, managing service level agreements, establishing key performance metrics and continuous process improvement culture.
- Proficiency in modern IT environments, including Windows-based systems, and enterprise productivity tools

Wage Range (DOE): $170,700 - $284,500 per year
