Job Title: Application Technical Specialist
Location: Smithfield, RI
Contract Duration: 6 months
Summary:
This is a temporary contractor role supporting multiple technology rollout projects in retail stores. The position operates within a technology rollout call center, providing first-level technical support to field technicians, vendors, and contractors implementing IT hardware. The role requires handling inbound and outbound calls, updating tracking systems, and supporting projects across different time zones with flexible shift availability.
Responsibilities:

Provide first-level technical troubleshooting support to on-site technicians and vendors during store technology implementations and upgrades

Handle inbound calls via queue and make outbound calls as required

Support multiple technology rollout projects simultaneously

Update tracking applications and perform required system validations

Provide project updates through email, Excel, and internal systems when not on calls

Follow project implementation protocols and escalation procedures

Adjust shift times as required to support evening, night, or different time-zone deployments

Participate in paid onsite training and adhere to project handbooks and procedures
Experience: -
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience or education related to IT hardware installations or technology support preferred

Basic technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Others: -
Strong verbal and written communication skills with clear and tactful interaction

Ability to work onsite 4–5 days per week

Comfortable working flexible shifts, including evenings or nights with advance notice

Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred

Paid onsite training (5 days/week); training shifts fall between 8 AM – 8 PM
