Job Description
Role Overview
As a Sr. Systems Engineer at Scienalysis, you will be the guardian of our digital-twin workflows. Your work ensures that every prediction—whether creep, fatigue, fracture, or thermal response—meets rigorous MIL-STD/ASTM standards and integrates seamlessly into our Phynex ICME platform. You will own the end-to-end testing architecture, from automated pipelines to hands-on validation against real experimental data, and drive continuous improvements in reliability, traceability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect & Maintain Integration Framework: Design modular, scalable interfaces that connect surrogate-model engines, data stores, and the Phynex GUI.
- Validation Engineering: Implement and execute test suites to confirm that our physics-based models reproduce experimental and benchmark data within ±2σ uncertainty.
- QA Pipeline Development: Build continuous-integration pipelines using Python-based testing frameworks (e.g., pytest), generate regression test reports, and track key metrics over each release cycle.
- Traceability & Documentation: Maintain rigorous traceability matrices linking requirements → model parameters → test results → release artifacts; author clear, concise validation summaries and user-facing guides.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Full-Stack Developers to embed hooks for automated testing, and coordinate with PI and consultants to prioritize bug fixes and feature enhancements.
- Performance & Stability: Profile simulation endpoints, identify bottlenecks in memory or I/O, and work with DevSecOps to tune containerized workloads for high-throughput GPU execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related STEM field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in verification & validation of scientific or engineering software—particularly finite-element, multiscale, or physics-informed models.
- Demonstrable knowledge of MIL-STD and ASTM qualification frameworks, and experience applying them to computational predictions.
- Proficiency in Python, including testing frameworks (pytest, unittest) and data-analysis libraries (NumPy, pandas).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), containerization (Docker), and basic DevSecOps practices.
- Clear written communication skills, with a track record of authoring technical validation reports or peer-reviewed summaries.
· U.S. born (eligible for DoD security clearance) and authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills
- Prior work on digital-twin platforms or ICME (Integrated Computational Materials Engineering) initiatives.
- Experience with uncertainty quantification, statistical analysis, or AI-driven surrogate validation.
- Hands-on familiarity with JAX or PyTorch for embedding test hooks directly into surrogate workflows.
- Understanding of cloud-native deployments on Azure Gov or AWS GovCloud, and secure data-handling under NIST/SP-800-171 controls.
Why Join Us?
- Impact: Your work will directly accelerate the qualification of advanced materials for air and space systems, medical devices, and energy infrastructure.
- Growth: We invest in your development—attend conferences, publish papers, and lead innovation in digital materials science.
- Culture: Small team, big ideas—collaborative, transparent, and committed to work-life balance.
- Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical (employee only), dental/vision options, 401(k) match, 4 weeks PTO, 11 Paid holidays, and competitive performance bonuses.
