IT Infrastructure Developer
Location: Remote, however you must reside in the Atlanta general area. Onsite only 1 time a month.
Position Overview
We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. The role focuses on automation, infrastructure-as-code, and day-to-day administration of Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory. The successful candidate will partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver repeatable, reliable infrastructure using PowerShell, Terraform, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure components (VMs, networking, storage, PaaS services) to meet application and business requirements.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 tenant services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and identity/access management.
- Manage on-premises and hybrid Active Directory environments, including AD health, synchronization (AD Connect), group policy, and access provisioning.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to provision and update cloud resources in a repeatable, version-controlled manner.
- Automate operational tasks, deployments, and maintenance using PowerShell and Python scripts.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for infrastructure and configuration changes.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure availability and performance of infrastructure components.
- Apply security best practices to identity, network, and platform configurations and support compliance initiatives and audits.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Produce and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for infrastructure processes and systems.
- Collaborate with developers, security engineers, and IT operations to deliver integrated solutions and support project delivery timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience administering Azure services and building cloud infrastructure (3+ years preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and tenant security.
- Strong experience managing Active Directory in on-premises and hybrid environments, including AD Connect and Group Policy.
- Proficient in PowerShell for automation, configuration management, and administrative scripting.
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices for provisioning cloud resources.
- Practical Python scripting skills for automation, tooling, and integration tasks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and source control workflows (Git).
- Solid understanding of networking, identity, access management, and security controls in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience performing incident response and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Certified) are a plus.
