Quality Engineer (API Testing & Automation)
Location: Memphis, TN (Hybrid) or Fully Remote
Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support the delivery of critical API-driven systems in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong balance of manual testing, automation, and API validation expertise. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of key platforms and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute functional, regression, integration, and performance tests for APIs and applications
- Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as ReadyAPI, Selenium, or similar
- Develop and optimize test coverage strategies across systems and workflows
- Create and manage test cases, scenarios, and results using test management tools such as TestRail or similar
- Validate API functionality through data-driven testing and SQL queries
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business analysts to improve quality and delivery outcomes
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing
- Strong experience testing APIs (REST and/or SOAP)
- Experience with test automation tools such as ReadyAPI, Selenium, or similar
- Solid understanding of SQL and database validation
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or similar
- Exposure to tools such as UIPath, Jenkins, Ansible, or RPA frameworks
- Experience working with payment systems, financial transactions, or high-volume data environments
