The Role Automation Engineering Manager
The Automation Engineering Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Automation Division within the company. This leadership role includes supervising personnel, planning the divisions budget, providing advice and conflict resolution management to staff, and maintaining the divisions standards and quality of work.
What You'll Do
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
- Responsible for all interaction with customer.
- Responsible for producing and maintaining the account plan.
- Move customer through the stages of strategic account management.
- Keep customer 100% dedicated to Suburban.
- Introduce and leverage all services to the degree possible.
- Ensure all customer expectations are being met.
- Responsible for timely and accurate exchange of all communications.
- Maintaining all information in CRM for the customer.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate invoicing, change orders, and collections.
- Responsible for internal communication of customer expectations.
- Develop additional market and revenue opportunities.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:
- Oversee and coordinate administrative and operation functions associated with all construction activities.
- Ensure timely completion of both operational and financial project closeouts.
- Conduct project management meetings.
- Evaluate current and anticipated workload to maintain appropriate staffing.
- Understand clients requirements and develop compatible processes to meet those requirements.
- Monitor costs and schedule to ensure clients requirements are met.
- Responsible for delivering cost effective services to the client.
- Demonstrate fiscal prudency of clients funds.
- Ensure productive utilization of field personnel and equipment.
- Ensure compliance in all areas: cost, contractual, and regulatory.
- Understands how the building is being constructed and works with the various trades on coordination to include (civil, structural, architectural, concrete, steel, plumbing, mechanical, communications and electrical safety and security).
- Maintains the companys professional image with distributors, vendors, owners, design professionals, and the general public.
PROFIT/LOSS
- Develop division budget and enforce its compliance.
- Ensure accurate cost coding and management of accounts receivable.
- Ensure construction administrative and billing practices that are audit ready.
What You Bring (Required Experience)
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience; preferably and emphasis on Electromechanical Technology, Instrumentation, and/or Controls Engineering Technology.
- 10+ years of manufacturing or controls experience.
- 5 years supervisor experience managing people and project management required.
