Job Description
Job Description IT Solutions Architect No C2C
Sacramento, CA | Hybrid
Contract-to-Hire
LHH is seeking an IT Solutions Architect for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a Sacramento-based organization. This role will combine hands-on solution architecture and delivery with stakeholder discovery, data architecture, systems integration, and technical documentation.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can meet with business teams, understand the problem they are trying to solve, design an appropriate technical solution, and remain involved through implementation. This is not a governance-only enterprise architecture role. The organization is looking for a hands-on architect who can contribute strategically while also helping move projects forward.
Salesforce, data architecture, and integration experience will be particularly important. The environment also includes Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS, MuleSoft, Drupal, REST APIs, and a fully Mac-based end-user environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and architecture designs
- Architect and support delivery of solutions across Salesforce, cloud, data, and marketing technology environments
- Design data flows, integrations, architecture diagrams, and technical frameworks
- Support Salesforce initiatives and related data and integration requirements
- Evaluate integration approaches using APIs, middleware, and cloud technologies
- Help document the current technology ecosystem and establish architecture standards
- Partner with Data & Analytics, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other business teams
- Provide technical input into vendor evaluations, RFPs, SOWs, and technology selections
- Support data architecture initiatives and help ensure data can flow effectively between business systems and analytics platforms
- Perform some hands-on coding and development for smaller internal projects
- Identify technical risks and recommend practical, business-focused solutions
- Work with the Director of IT to improve architecture documentation, standards, and long-term technology planning
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience
- Strong background in solution architecture and technical design
- Hands-on experience delivering technical solutions, not solely defining architecture standards
- Strong Salesforce experience
- Experience with data architecture and system integrations
- Strong discovery and requirements-gathering skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Experience developing architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and solution frameworks
- Experience working in a Mac environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple business groups
Preferred Qualifications
- MuleSoft experience
- Google Cloud Platform experience
- Azure and/or AWS experience
- REST API and integration architecture experience
- Drupal or other marketing technology experience
- Salesforce architecture or related certifications
- Experience with GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy considerations
- Experience working with external or international vendors
- Hands-on development or coding experience
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, BRMP, PMP, or similar certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Environment
This is a hybrid position based in Sacramento. Employees are generally onsite every Tuesday and Wednesday, plus every other Thursday.
The organization operates in a 100% Mac environment and supports a mixed cloud and marketing technology ecosystem that includes Salesforce, GCP, Azure, AWS, MuleSoft, Drupal, REST APIs, macOS, and iOS.
What Makes This Role Interesting
- Significant influence over future solution design and architecture standards
- Hands-on ownership rather than a governance-only architecture role
- Opportunity to work directly with the Director of IT
- Strong exposure to Salesforce, data architecture, cloud technologies, and integrations
- Opportunity to bring selected development work in-house
- Cross-functional exposure across marketing, data, finance, and operations
- Limited after-hours or on-call expectations
- Hybrid work environment with parking provided
