Job Description
Lead C++ Developer (Low Latency Algo Execution)
\n
Salary: $300k-400k
\n
Total compensation: very open - based on expectations, performance and seniority
\n
\n
I'm partnered with a boutique systematic trading firm (~200 employees) looking to hire a Lead C++ Developer to join its algorithmic execution team.
\n
\n
This is a high-impact role with genuine leadership including the opportunity to take on meaningful workload directly from the Head of the team.
\n
\n
It's a strong fit for someone technically excellent who's also ready to take on broader influence.
\n
\n
The Role
\n
- \n
- Design and build low-latency algorithmic execution systems at the core of a systematic trading business running strategies across multiple asset classes.
- Own the technical direction of the execution stack, from order routing and smart order logic to market data handling, pre-trade risk and the infrastructure around them.
- Optimise end to end latency and throughput, profiling and tuning performance-critical C++ across the hot path.
- Work closely with quantitative researchers and traders to turn strategy requirements into robust, production-grade execution logic.
- Lead and mentor a small group of strong engineers, setting the bar on design, code quality, testing and release practices.
- Take on meaningful workload directly from the Head of the team, with real input on roadmap, prioritisation and hiring

Your Background
\n
- \n
- Significant experience in software engineering - seniority and track record matter more than a specific YoE

- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers, whether as a formal team lead or a senior engineer who has taken on technical leadership of a team or workstream
- Proven experience in financial markets, ideally within systematic trading, HFT, market making or a trading technology team
