Job Title: Quality Engineer – Aerospace Compliance and Audit

Job Description

This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining quality policies and procedures that meet stringent aerospace standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead audits, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations, AS9100, and ISO 9000 quality management systems. Working closely with internal teams and external customers, you will analyze data, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives that help keep aircraft flying safely and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies and procedures that align with FAA requirements, AS9100, and ISO 9000 standards.
  • Plan, conduct, and document internal and external quality audits to ensure ongoing compliance with aerospace quality standards.
  • Lead and coordinate corrective action activities, including root cause analysis, implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Interpret and apply detailed regulatory and customer requirements to internal processes, ensuring that products and services meet all applicable standards.
  • Perform data analysis and detailed requirements analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for quality and process improvement.
  • Support and maintain FAA compliance activities, including documentation, record keeping, and adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve product reliability.
  • Serve as a customer-facing quality representative, addressing quality concerns, communicating status, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the quality management system in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9000.
  • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise quality reports, audit findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all quality activities and documentation support safe, certified products for the global aerospace community.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience working with aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 and ISO 9000.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAA requirements and FAA compliance practices.
  • Hands-on experience conducting quality audits in a regulated environment.
  • Strong background in corrective action processes, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and detailed requirements analysis to support quality and compliance decisions.
  • Customer-facing experience in a quality or engineering capacity, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Solid understanding of quality engineering principles in an aerospace or similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and thorough documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • ODA (Organization Designation Authorization) designation or experience working within an ODA environment.
  • Experience in policy development related to quality and compliance.
  • Experience in aviation, avionics, or aerospace manufacturing and maintenance environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, professionalism, and high-quality work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
