Our organization is in search of a driven and customer-focused Cybersecurity System Security Engineer (CSSE) - III to become a part of our team in El Segundo, CA.
In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) related to SSC and AFSPC acquisition initiatives. Your responsibilities will include providing daily technical assistance across Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP operations to ensure compliance with essential NIST Cybersecurity standards for system assessment and authorization in a full-time, on-site setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of System Security Engineers and Certification Analysts to safeguard national and international security interests during the design and testing phases of acquisition systems.
- Lead and co-lead Cybersecurity working groups for customers and the SAP community, while actively engaging in Systems Security Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) reviews.
- Supervise the creation, execution, and assessment of information system security program policies, focusing on SAP network infrastructures.
- Offer expert consultation and technical services regarding all facets of Information Security and system architecture.
- Formulate and present Cybersecurity risk management suggestions, Program Protection Plans, and Cybersecurity Strategies to clients.
- Support site activation efforts, design evaluations, and system testing and assessment.
- Collaborate directly with approval and accreditation bodies to secure Authorization to Operate (ATO) for systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; alternatively, an additional 4 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
- A total of 12+ years of experience, including at least 8 years in an SCI or SAR environment.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Special Access Programs (SAP).
- Must comply with DoD Directive 8570.01-M/8140 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 3 and Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 3 within 6 months of employment.
- Comprehensive understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of DoD security policies, manuals, and relevant ICDs, JAFANs, and associated guiding documents.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate with DoD, military, civilian, and industry stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Exhibit a high level of creativity, originality, and initiative while requiring minimal oversight.
Clearance Requirements
- Must possess a current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Programs (SAP) is required.
- Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.
Physical Requirements
- Willingness to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR), utilizing both air and ground transportation.
- This role may involve remaining stationary for 50% of the time in closed-area offices.
- Ability to occasionally move around the office to access files, cabinets, and safes, or to install and remove computer-related equipment.
