Job DescriptionSet-Up Technician AssistantJob Purpose: As the Set-Up Technician, you will play a crucial role in our production process. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and setting up metal components for additional processes. Pay Rate: $18.00Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare metal surfaces for production processes according to customer specifications. Clean metal surfaces thoroughly prior to plating, using chemical cleaning or blasting. Measure, mark, and mask areas to be excluded from plating. Place metal parts to be plated on plating racks; Remove metal parts from plating racks post plating. Ensure plated parts are clean and dry, using compressed air and clean towels. Inspect plated areas for defects, such as staining, air bubbles or uneven coverage. Place metal parts in the oven to cure masking materials or post plating. Assist plating and polishing technicians as needed. Maintain production records. • Additional duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change, and new ones may be added, at any time with or without advanced notice. Education & Experience: High school graduate or GED; relevant vocational training a plus. Minimum 1+ years related experience is a plus, but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience, or related industry in a manufacturing environment. Skills & Qualifications: Must be able to speak, read and write in English; able to give and receive clarification and respond to questions. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Good team player and willingness to learn and perform various tasks as requested. Basic shop math necessary (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions. Ability to read and understand blueprints, including tolerance requirements. Ability to use a computer to record order details. Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Work is performed primarily in a production/warehouse environment. Exposure to hazardous chemicals; atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system or skin including fumes, odors or mists; exposure to loud noises. Able to work 8+ hours a day as required. Moderate walking, standing, prolonged sitting, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. The employee must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, carry and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
