Job Title: SAP HCM Payroll Functional Analyst
Duration: 6 Months (Extension Possible)

Overview
An organization is seeking an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Functional Analyst to support the SAP HCM Payroll (PY) module along with related HR modules such as Organizational Management (OM), Personnel Administration (PA), and Time Management (TM).
The role involves both configuration and support of customized payroll solutions, including payroll processing, pensions, time evaluation, payroll schemas, wage types, tax configurations (BSI), and voluntary/involuntary deductions.
The selected consultant will be responsible for handling both project implementation and production support activities for the SAP HCM Payroll module.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive knowledge transfer from the current SAP HCM Payroll Analyst
- Provide support for user-reported issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution in production systems
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to design, build, test, deploy, and support solutions
- Independently resolve complex, integrated system issues using structured problem-solving techniques
- Proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive solutions
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders on system processes, solutions, and project updates
- Lead project activities, mentor junior analysts, and ensure timely task completion
- Serve as an internal consultant and project coordinator from initiation through post go-live support
- Participate in large-scale projects, managing HCM-related scope, risks, and deliverables
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical system solutions
- Ensure system integrity through best practices in configuration, testing, and security
- Monitor SAP HCM support packs and coordinate implementation
- Understand and manage integrations with SAP Payroll and related modules
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams
Required / Preferred Skills
- Strong experience in SAP HCM Payroll configuration and support
- Working knowledge of OM, PA, TM, and Benefits modules
- Experience with payroll schemas, wage types, and tax configurations (BSI)
- Familiarity with end-to-end payroll processes and integrations
- Preferred: Experience configuring pay rules for Collective Bargaining Agreements
Key Deliverables
- Resolution of assigned tickets and incidents
- Implementation of SAP HCM support packs and year-end payroll updates
- Support ongoing projects including payroll configuration, testing, and cutover activities
- Creation of business process design and workflow documentation
- Development and maintenance of functional and technical specifications
- Execution of test scripts (unit, integration, parallel testing)
- Preparation of training documentation for new enhancements
- Knowledge transfer to internal SAP HCM team
- Additional deliverables as identified during the engagement
