Job Description
DCS is looking for a Test Engineer to support the developmental and operational weapon system programs. The incumbent supports systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and processes across developmental and operational test events, including flight test, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), and operational environments. The engineer works as a member of an integrated team to plan, integrate, execute, and analyze tests, and to resolve engineering problems that arise during verification and validation.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide test engineering support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and processes for developmental and operational weapon system programs.
Support developmental and operational test events in flight, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), and operational environments.
Contribute to test planning, test integration, test execution, and post-test analysis as a member of the test team.
Apply Department of Defense principles of developmental and operational testing, and the verification and validation activities of the systems engineering “V.”
Support system test and integration, including interface definition, test configuration, and readiness for test events.
Work with the team to identify, investigate, and resolve engineering problems encountered during planning, integration, execution, and analysis.
Apply general technical and theoretical knowledge of strategic planning and process improvement to test processes where assigned.
Use a working knowledge of Missile Defense System (MDS) components and system-level topics to interpret test objectives, data, and results. (Confirm MDS expansion if the labor category refers to a different system.)
Prepare and review test documentation, including plans, procedures, data products, and analysis inputs, consistent with program and DoD test processes.
Coordinate with systems engineering, integration, operations, and government stakeholders as required to execute assigned test tasks.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field with 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
Must have an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Ability to work as a team member to solve engineering and test problems.
General technical and theoretical knowledge of DoD principles of developmental and operational testing.
Working knowledge of verification and validation activities associated with the systems engineering “V,” system test and integration, strategic planning, and/or process improvement.
Ability to contribute to test planning, integration, execution, and analysis.
Basic knowledge of MDS components and system-level topics.
