Job Description
TMCI is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Data Analyst to support execution of enterprise data quality practices. This role focuses on implementing and monitoring data quality rules, performing data discovery and validation, maintaining dashboards, and supporting remediation efforts in collaboration with data engineers and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate must be more than a requirements-driven analyst. This position requires someone who actively seeks out data quality issues, identifies potential problems that may not have been previously documented or identified, and proactively investigates the data to uncover issues. The ability to independently identify anomalies, inconsistencies, gaps, and potential data quality risks is a critical requirement of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor data quality rules and validation processes.
- Proactively monitor and analyze enterprise data to identify data quality issues that have not necessarily been identified through formal requirements or user-reported defects.
- Identify, document, and escalate data quality issues with supporting and root cause analysis.
- Maintain dashboards and generate reports on data quality metrics.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and stakeholders to support remediation efforts.
- Document data quality processes, rules, and validation results.
- Support adherence to organizational data quality and governance standards.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOD clearance required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Candidates local to the DMV (DC Metro, Southern MD, Northern VA) preferred, however all qualified CONUS-based candidates will be considered.
- Location/Work Schedule: This position may support a geographically distributed workforce; however, the selected candidate is expected to work predominantly during Eastern Time (EST) business hours to align with the customer's operating schedule and facilitate real-time collaboration with customer and project stakeholders.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data quality, data analysis, data operations, or similar roles.
- 2 – 3 years performing data profiling, rule-based validation, and cross-system reconciliation.
- Strong SQL skills and demonstrated ability to query and analyze complex datasets, a must.
- Experience analyzing data across multiple systems and data sources.
- Experience with data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and quality analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to identify data quality issues through independent investigation and exploratory analysis rather than relying solely on predefined requirements or test cases.
- Experience performing root-cause analysis of data issues.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience maintaining dashboards and producing data quality reports.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers or cross-functional data teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Comfortable working with large data sets and databases
- Basic understanding of data management fundamentals: ETL, data governance, and data quality
- Data quality or data governance certifications (e.g., DAMA, Collibra)
- SQL or database-related certifications
- BI tool certifications (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards, terminologies (ICD-10, SNOMED), and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Understanding of healthcare compliance and regulations, including HIPAA
- Expertise in data modeling and data architecture
Salary Range: The salary range noted represents the company’s minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The salary made at offering for this position is based on a comprehensive evaluation of candidates' skills, years of experience, and directly related expertise to the specific requirements of the role. Compensation will be determined by considering various factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, competencies, and alignment with the responsibilities outlined in the job description.
