A day in the life
You arrive on the floor ready to protect quality. You pull the latest work orders and specifications, then walk the line—starting with raw materials, moving through in-process checks, and finishing with final inspections. With calipers, micrometers, gauges, and the CMM at your side, you verify dimensions, spot inconsistencies, and confirm labeling and packaging match requirements. You record precise measurements, flag nonconformances, partner with production on root-cause checks, and help keep the area clean, organized, and safe. By the end of the shift, the records you’ve kept tell a clear story: products released only when they meet standards.
What you’ll do
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods against blueprints, specifications, and quality criteria.
- Conduct visual and dimensional checks using measurement and inspection tools to detect defects and variances.
- Compare readings to engineering drawings, work instructions, and established tolerances.
- Document results meticulously—measurements, nonconformances, and observations—within required quality records and systems.
- Communicate issues to production teams and supervisors; assist with investigations into root causes.
- Monitor process consistency and adherence to procedures; verify proper labeling and packaging.
- Follow quality control, safety, and production procedures; maintain an orderly, safe workspace.
What you bring
- Prior experience in quality control/inspection within manufacturing or production is required.
- Willingness and ability to work either day or night shift.
- Confident reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Skilled with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and inspection methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail; accuracy and quality are non-negotiable for you.
- Ability to spot defects and trends, and to think analytically to solve problems.
- Reliable documentation habits and strong organizational skills.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and disciplined in following procedures and EHS practices.
