This role oversees electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on new construction high-rise residential and commercial work throughout New York City. The Electrical Project Manager plans, coordinates, and monitors all phases of electrical projects, ensuring they meet schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements while complying with NYC electrical codes and project specifications. This position offers the opportunity to manage large-scale projects, collaborate closely with field and office teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring all phases progress according to plan.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, tracking milestones and critical path activities to keep projects on time.
- Coordinate daily with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and vendors to align field activities with project objectives.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports on cost, schedule, and scope to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Assist with budget development and tracking, including managing change orders and implementing effective cost control measures.
- Support monthly billings, prepare job cost reports, and monitor cash flow to maintain financial health of each project.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including correspondence, logs, reports, and records.
- Coordinate material procurement, including takeoffs, ordering, and delivery scheduling to ensure timely availability of equipment and materials.
- Participate in project meetings with owners, general contractors, and design teams, providing technical input and progress updates.
- Support enforcement of jobsite safety standards and company policies, promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
- Assist with permit documentation, scheduling, and coordination of inspections as required by authorities having jurisdiction.
- Ensure all work complies with NYC electrical codes, applicable standards, and project specifications.
- Oversee 1–2 projects at a time, typically ranging from $6–$20 million in value.
- Manage electrical scopes on new construction high-rise residential and commercial projects, including electrical service, emergency generators, cogeneration systems, CCTV, intercom, fire alarm systems, and related infrastructure.
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to guide installation and resolve field issues.
- Coordinate installation of electrical wiring, conduit, and circuits, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to design.
- Leverage project management and construction management software, including Procore, to manage documentation, workflows, and communication.
- Demonstrate strong technical ability, work efficiently to complete tasks, and operate with confidence and independence while collaborating with the broader project team.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
- 5–10 years of professional experience in the construction industry working on new construction high-rise residential projects on the electrical side.
- Hands-on experience managing or supporting electrical construction projects, including scheduling, coordination, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, including NYC electrical codes, and the ability to ensure code-compliant installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical specifications.
- Project experience throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
- Proficiency with Procore for project management and documentation.
- Technical experience in electrical construction, including electrical circuits, installation, electrical wiring, and conduit.
- Experience coordinating electrical scopes such as electrical service, emergency generators, cogeneration systems, CCTV, intercom, and fire alarm systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or oversee 1–2 projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track schedules, costs, and documentation accurately.
- Effective communication skills for working with field supervision, subcontractors, vendors, owners, and design teams.
- Proven ability to work independently with confidence while maintaining high technical standards and attention to detail.

Work Environment
This role is based in New York City, with projects located throughout the five boroughs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $61.00/hr.
