As the Electrical Systems Technical Program Lead, you’ll guide cross‑disciplinary teams—electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and quality—from first sketch to full-scale production.
A Day in the Life
Morning: You kick off with a cross-functional standup, aligning electrical, firmware, and mechanical teams on this week’s sprint goals. Midday: You run a risk review, triaging blockers and assigning mitigations across suppliers and internal owners. Afternoon: You facilitate a design review, track new actions in Jira, and update the program Gantt in Smartsheet. Late day: You brief leadership on KPIs, schedule health, and readiness gates as the product moves toward validation and launch.
What You’ll Lead
- Drive end-to-end program delivery—from concept and prototyping through validation, ramp, and production launch.
- Own integrated schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across the product lifecycle.
- Coordinate execution across electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Identify risks and roadblocks early; implement and track mitigation plans to hit critical dates.
- Manage feature maturity, component readiness, and program roadmaps to achieve business objectives.
- Champion cost-down and quality-up initiatives throughout development and into production.
- Facilitate design and program reviews; lead cross-functional technical discussions and decision forums.
- Track and drive closure of Jira action items and engineering deliverables.
- Report status, KPIs, risks, and schedule variances to leadership with clear, data-backed narratives.
- Align detailed engineering plans to overarching company goals and go-to-market timelines.
Required Background
- 5+ years of Technical Program Management in engineering environments.
- Proven leadership of complex hardware or electromechanical programs.
- Hands-on experience shepherding products from concept through manufacturing and production launch.
- Deep knowledge of engineering development lifecycles and cross-functional product development.
- Expertise building and managing schedules, milestones, and inter-team dependencies.
- Direct collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality organizations.
- Proficiency with Jira, Agile practices, and project scheduling tools.
- Fluency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or comparable Gantt-based planning platforms.
Preferred Experience
- Domain exposure in battery systems, energy storage, automotive, aerospace, robotics, industrial automation, or advanced manufacturing.
- Working understanding of electrical systems, electronic hardware, PCB/PCBA development, and/or embedded systems.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp leadership.
- Familiarity with product release processes, engineering change management, and configuration control.
- Programs that span firmware and software integration.
