Position Overview

We are hiring a large cohort of experienced Wind River Engineers to support complex customer environments involving VxWorks, Wind River Linux, embedded systems, and low-level software troubleshooting.

This is a highly technical engineering role focused on reproducing customer environments, diagnosing difficult system-level issues, performing root-cause analysis, and working directly with embedded operating systems, kernels, drivers, and Board Support Packages (BSPs).

Successful candidates should be comfortable working close to the hardware and debugging issues that may involve kernel panics, driver failures, timing problems, memory issues, system crashes, and other complex embedded-system behavior.

Key Responsibilities

Reproduce customer environments and reported technical issues in lab or development environments.
Investigate and resolve complex issues involving VxWorks and/or Wind River Linux.
Perform detailed root-cause analysis of kernel, driver, BSP, and embedded software problems.
Debug kernel panics, driver hangs, timing issues, crashes, memory problems, and system-level failures.
Analyze C/C++ source code, stack traces, crash dumps, logs, and disassembly.
Troubleshoot interactions between operating systems, device drivers, hardware, firmware, and applications.
Work with Board Support Packages (BSPs) and hardware-specific configurations.
Recreate customer configurations to isolate defects and determine whether issues originate in the OS, drivers, BSP, hardware, or application layer.
Use debugging and diagnostic tools to analyze system behavior at a low level.
Document findings, root causes, troubleshooting procedures, and recommended solutions.
Collaborate with Wind River engineers and other technical teams to resolve escalated customer issues.

Required Qualifications

Approximately 8–15 years of relevant engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with VxWorks and/or Wind River Linux.
Strong programming and debugging skills in C.
Experience with C++ is beneficial.
Deep understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
Experience debugging at the kernel, driver, and BSP level.
Strong knowledge of Linux or RTOS internals.
Experience reading and analyzing:
- Stack traces
- Crash dumps
- Logs
- C/C++ source code
- Disassembly
Experience troubleshooting device drivers and hardware/software interactions.
Demonstrated ability to reproduce complex customer environments and technical issues.
Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote engineering environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
