Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Hardware Engineer I to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of hardware products and systems, including the creation of new solutions and updates to existing technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects of moderate complexity, applying your expertise to solve challenges and support organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop hardware systems, ensuring functionality and reliability in alignment with project requirements.
• Conduct research and evaluation of new processes, methods, and technologies to enhance product performance.
• Establish and carry out testing routines to validate system designs and functionality.
• Create and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules while adhering to organizational guidelines.
• Document engineering processes, results, and findings for future reference and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to exchange information and present factual insights.
• Provide guidance and support to team members on routine tasks and new assignments.
• Analyze data and situations to identify factors impacting project outcomes and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a liaison with vendors and external stakeholders to ensure procurement and logistics align with project needs.
• Maintain awareness of IT operations, design standards, and engineering practices to optimize workflows.• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in hardware design, development, or related engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency in data entry, documentation, and reporting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and apply findings to engineering solutions.
• Knowledge of budget processes, project management, and reconciliation techniques.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to provide guidance and coordinate with peers.
• Experience with IT operations, digital systems, and engineering practices.
