GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for support of enterprise applications and software. Analyzes business process issues and/or problems and provides assistance to system users; maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  • Able to research solutions to new problems and opportunities presented to the agency.
  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, design, deploy, and upgrade applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications related to enterprise systems.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and interpret user requirements and designs, develops, and maintains scalable full stack web applications using multiple programming languages and technologies, encompassing user interfaces, application logic, APIs, and databases.
  • Interact with and query database systems to include SQL Server, MariaDB/MySQL, and Postgres.
  • Create extract, transform, and load processes.
  • Plan and coordinate the processes required to provision user applications and systems necessary for business operations.
  • Manage and ensure that all systems are integrated & interoperable, the operational configuration changes and updates are supported and implemented into the system timely, accurately and per the specifications.
  • Provide day-to-day application troubleshooting.
  • Assist in identifying operational inefficiencies, conflicting business practices, and integration issues.
  • Manage and schedule system and server preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with the design and test of Disaster Recovery Procedures for Business Application Systems to support business continuity, minimize risk, and loss.
  • As part of the Emergency Management team this position must be able to attend early morning, evening, or weekend meetings and report to work for response to emergencies on an around-the-clock basis, seven days a week (as needed).
  • The stress level for this position is moderate and the workload often requires this position to work non-traditional hours to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

  • This position does not directly supervise any employees.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Information Systems or Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline, and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in general database design and query writing, systems implementation and integration, or web application development; or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. Programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, PHP, .NET, etc. and proficiency in the current Microsoft Office package is required.
