Job Description:

  • The Application Engineer position main objective is to be Client's engineering representative with the OEM customer supporting the release of new designs and engineering changes for wireless charging systems to expand Client market share and build customer relationships locally at the GM engineering center.
  • This role bridges the gap between product development and customer applications, ensuring our technical solutions meet performance, quality and cost requirements in real-world automotive environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationship, acting as the technical interface between the customer and internal engineering teams.
  • Support OEM customer design development determining wireless charging system solutions for vehicle applications
  • Define best implementation strategies
  • Support OEM release process including ECR, VCAM, SPR, PRTS
  • Support Client hardware and software design teams as voice of customer
  • Support customer milestone meetings and program management
  • Drive the organization to meet customer objectives for field return investigation and ongoing activities
  • Drive the organization to be recognized as our customer's best supplier
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed (less than 15%)
  • Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in [Mechanical or Electrical Engineering]
  • 3+ years experience with Automotive Wireless charging Systems and software including experience with design or manufacturing

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in [Mechanical or Electrical Engineering]
  • Previous experience as a Design Release Engineer working as a resident at an OEM
  • Automotive OEM level experience
  • APQP knowledge
  • Basic Financial Training
  • Project Management
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
  • Resourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environment
