Job DescriptionPosition Description: The Senior Project Architect is a technical expert responsible for leading complex architectural projects through documentation, coordination, constructability, product application, and construction administration. This role manages large-scale, high-risk projects with significant scope, budgets, schedules, stakeholder coordination, and contractual complexities. Working independently with Principals and Project Managers, the Senior Project Architect leads project teams, delegates responsibilities, defines project scope, develops innovative solutions, and ensures successful project execution. The role demonstrates leadership within and outside the organization while overseeing project progress, quality, and alignment with project goals.Qualifications:Licensed Architect with fifteen (15) or more years of architectural experience, including three (3) years of experience as the lead Architect on medium/large projects. Proficient with Revit modeling. The Senior Project Architect has acquired the knowledge, experience and skills of the Lead Architect. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The Senior Project Architect is responsible for leading and managing the design team in the design and documentation process. He/she tracks the progress of all in-house team members and consultants, and manages owner directed changes and coordination items. The specific responsibilities of a Senior Project Architect include the following, which may be performed personally or delegated with appropriate oversight: Disseminates relevant information to the team and overseas project progress at appropriate intervals, based on team member roles and experience. Establishes communication tools and protocols. Coordinates the project workflow with the BIM manager, in-house team, and consultants to achieve coordinated files for each project milestone. Plans and documents consultant meetings. Proactively communicates with attendees to ensure meeting goals are met. Lead team innovation, productivity, quality, efficiency, and growth on a regular basis, so that OZ excels in the marketplace and is well-positioned for future work. Schedules QC reviews at appropriate intervals and ensures resolution of all comments and issues. Has advanced knowledge of regulatory and code requirements. Manages compliance risks with owner, design team, and regulatory authorities. Leads entitlements, zoning issues, permits, and required approval process. Ensures coordination of all drawings, specifications, third party specialty reviews, and other deliverables. Has advanced technical and building systems knowledge. Coordinates the interior design and consultants with the architectural design. Integrates building systems, and fully details the building. Manages responses to all bid and negotiation-phase issues, including all necessary coordination. Manages construction phase services in conformance with contractual requirements, including deliverables within all applicable timeframes. Monitors liability issues on the projects they are involved in, and enlists assistance from PIC and OZ Attorney when necessary.
