Title: Network Engineer III (L3)
Department: Service Delivery
Employment Type: Part-Time Contractor (1099)
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Travel: Up to 50% as needed for client engagements, assessments, implementations, and critical project activities
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Technical Leadership
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on network architecture, modernization, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead technical discovery sessions, network assessments, and solution design workshops.
- Develop and present recommendations, technical roadmaps, and implementation strategies to customer stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and project teams.
Solution Design & Implementation
Design, implement, and optimize enterprise networking solutions, including:
- Routing and Switching
- Wireless Networks
- SD-WAN
- Network Monitoring and Management Platforms
- Cloud Connectivity
- Data Center Networking
Network Security Integrations
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical network designs.
- Lead complex migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects.
- Ensure solutions align with customer requirements, best practices, and security standards.
Project Delivery
- Lead assigned projects from planning through implementation and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, and Delivery Teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, task management, and time reporting.
- Provide technical quality assurance and peer review of engineering deliverables.
Escalation & Advanced Troubleshooting
- Act as the highest-level technical escalation point for complex networking issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop sustainable remediation plans.
- Troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and hybrid-cloud networking environments.
- Work closely with technology partners and vendors to resolve critical issues.
Business & Practice Development
- Identify opportunities to improve customer environments and communicate recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activities as a technical subject matter expert when required.
- Stay current on emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Contribute to standards, templates, documentation, and service improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive network engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise networking solutions.
- Experience leading projects and working directly with customer stakeholders.
- Experience with multi-vendor networking environments.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in:
- Enterprise Routing and Switching
- Wireless Networking
- Network Monitoring Platforms
- TCP/IP Networking
- DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs
- WAN and SD-WAN Technologies
- VPN Technologies
- Network Security Best Practices
- Cloud Networking (Azure and/or AWS)

Certifications
One or more of the following preferred:
- CCNP Enterprise (Preferred)
- CCNA (Required Minimum)
- Cisco Specialist Certifications
- Fortinet NSE Certifications
- Palo Alto Certifications
- Aruba Certifications
- AWS or Azure Networking Certifications
