Job Description

Who we’re looking for

We need someone “obsessed” with computer systems, hungry to learn, and highly self-motivated about industry applications. You’ll support a suite of several proprietary applications, not just one. You’ll also bring ideas for our tools and processes and, just as important, help implement them.

GTN is looking for a technical problem-solver who wants to do more than close tickets. You’ll support users of a family of proprietary, custom-built applications, and you’ll help us get better at it. There’s a lot to learn, and the variety is part of the appeal. We want someone curious about how systems work, who teaches themselves new tools for fun, and who is excited to bring ideas to a team and make them real.

Key terms

Pay: $35/hour

Employment: 12-month contract-to-perm, with benefits (medical, dental, vision) during the contract and the option for permanent hire.

Location: Hybrid, [2 days/week] onsite in downtown Dallas [this may increase throughout the year]

Schedule: [Standard hours / rotating daytime 8-hr shifts (6:30am-7:30PM range, mainly an 8:00am-5pm schedule) / overtime during peak season.

Growth: Strong performers are considered for promotion to Senior Associate within 2-3 years.

Ramp-up: Months 1-3 on one or two core applications with guidance, months 4-6 on additional tools with more independent resolution, and by month 12 broad enough to help train others.

This is a contract-to-perm opportunity. During your first 12 months, you’ll learn our applications and ramp toward contributing independently. Within 2-3 years, strong performers are considered for Senior Associate, working with team leaders to train others and shape how we use the Microsoft and industry tools in our environment.

What you’ll do

  • Reproduce issues, ask focused questions, and explain solutions clearly to non-technical users
  • Own requests from first response through resolution, and escalate with complete documentation when needed
  • Build working knowledge of each application over time, starting with [core tools]
  • Identify recurring issues and help implement improvements to processes, documentation, and tooling
  • Learn the Microsoft and industry tools in our environment and help streamline our work
  • Over time, help train new team members and support team leaders on technical initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – any degree for a traditional college/university – technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in technical support, application support, network or systems engineering, or hardware engineering
  • A self-driven learner who explores technology on their own
  • Comfortable learning several unfamiliar applications and keeping track of how they differ and interact
  • Strong written communication, calm, patient, and easygoing with frustrated users
  • Comfort with Microsoft tools. Active Directory, Intune, PowerShell, or Power Automate experience is a plus.
  • Build working knowledge of each application over time, starting with [M365 Suite (Outlook, PPT, Word); SharePoint, Azure, OneNote, AI tools (Claude, Gen AI)]

Why join us: an established team with low turnover, supportive leadership, a collaborative culture, and a real path to grow.
