\n

We are seeking an experienced Linux Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and support secure infrastructure across laboratory, R&D, development, and production environments.

\n

\n

This hands-on role combines Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization, Cisco networking, OpenShift/container technologies, automation, and air-gapped infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience building and troubleshooting infrastructure—not simply performing routine systems administration.

\n

\n

Required Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • 3+ years of experience in Linux systems, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, networking, DevOps, or a related technical environment.
  • \n

  • Strong hands-on Linux/RHEL experience, including system configuration, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle support.
  • \n

  • Experience with enterprise virtualization technologies such as VMware, oVirt/RHEV, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
  • \n

  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking, including switching, routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, and network troubleshooting.
  • \n

  • Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, or similar container technologies.
  • \n

  • Experience with infrastructure automation or scripting using Ansible, Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar tools.
  • \n

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • \n

  • Current security-related certification such as Security+, CISSP, or equivalent, plus an OS/network-related certification such as Linux+, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • \n

  • Strong computer hardware, operating system, networking, and enterprise software troubleshooting skills.
  • \n

\n

\n

Preferred Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • Experience building and maintaining air-gapped or disconnected RHEL environments, including YUM/DNF/RPM repositories and internal container registries.
  • \n

  • Experience deploying OpenShift or Kubernetes from bare-metal infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter, oVirt/RHEV, or Red Hat Satellite.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, CAC, HBSS, vulnerability remediation, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting DoD, federal government, command-and-control, laboratory, R&D, or other highly regulated environments.
  • \n

  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Apache HTTP Server, IIS, backup/recovery, and enterprise storage technologies.
  • \n

\n

\n

Essential Duties:

\n

    \n
  • Design, build, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across physical and virtual environments.
  • \n

  • Support isolated and air-gapped infrastructure, including internal Linux repositories, software/package mirrors, and private container registries.
  • \n

  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot virtualization platforms such as VMware and oVirt/RHEV, including compute, networking, storage, provisioning, and lifecycle operations.
  • \n

  • Build and maintain OpenShift/container infrastructure, including bare-metal deployments, cluster operations, upgrades, registries, and troubleshooting.
  • \n

  • Support Cisco-based network infrastructure and troubleshoot connectivity across switches, routers, VLANs, servers, workstations, and related systems.
  • \n

  • Develop scripts and automation to improve infrastructure deployment, configuration, maintenance, and reliability.
  • \n

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems, including patching, upgrades, migrations, vulnerability remediation, backup/recovery, and user support.
  • \n

  • Support infrastructure technologies including LVM, iSCSI, SMB, NFS, Apache/IIS, relational databases, and source control systems such as SVN/Git.
  • \n

  • Maintain secure and compliant infrastructure, including asset/patch tracking, system hardening, application authorization, and End-of-Life remediation.
  • \n

\n

\n

Education:

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • \n
