Job DescriptionOverview:We're looking for an experienced EDI Engineer who can own, operate, and optimize our electronic data interchange (EDI) infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely data exchange with our trading partners. You’ll lead the charge in architecting EDI solutions, managing third-party providers, and partnering with internal stakeholders to keep transactions flowing and business humming.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain EDI transactions including but not limited to 850, 855, 856, and 810.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our EDI service provider—overseeing issue resolution, SLAs, and partner onboarding.
- Partner with business units to gather requirements and align EDI processes with operational goals.
- Monitor EDI transmissions, proactively troubleshoot failures, and maintain clean, auditable transaction logs.
- Ensure EDI processes adhere to industry standards like ANSI X12 and EDIFACT, and meet internal compliance requirements.
- Document EDI mappings, partner specs, workflows, and support protocols for transparency and maintainability.
- Collaborate with ERP and infrastructure teams to tightly integrate EDI with core business systems.
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on EDI development and support experience.
- Proficiency with communication protocols such as AS2, SFTP, FTP, and VANs.
- Solid grasp of industry EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT).
- Experience managing external EDI service providers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and cross-functional.
Preferred (Bonus Points):
- Experience building and maintaining EDI maps.
- Familiarity with Infor LN ERP or similar enterprise systems.
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python) for automation and monitoring.
- Exposure to structured data formats like XML and JSON.
- Background in supply chain, manufacturing, healthcare, or retail industries.
