You will ensure that each stage of the VSM—from preparation and workshop facilitation through analysis, documentation, and action planning—is clear, structured, and grounded in validated data.

Establish a performance baseline using measures such as cycle time, order-processing time, OTIF, inventory accuracy, exception rates, and customer impact.
  • \n

  • Workshop Documentation: Capture process maps, observations, pain points, assumptions, open questions, decisions, and supporting data in clear, reusable documentation. Maintain version control and confirm accuracy with stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Waste and Constraint Analysis: Identify delays, rework, duplication, process variation, capacity constraints, and non-value-added activities. Work with stakeholders to investigate root causes and distinguish verified findings from hypotheses.
  • \n

  • Future-State Design: Facilitate the development and documentation of a practical future-state process, including proposed process changes, roles, controls, technology needs, and enabling capabilities.
  • \n

  • Improvement Roadmap: Convert findings into prioritized initiatives based on expected value, feasibility, risk, dependencies, and effort. Define milestones, accountable owners, success measures, and next steps.
  • \n

  • Project Governance: Track plans, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, and changes. Provide timely, concise updates to sponsors and stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Build shared understanding and consensus across OCS teams and, where applicable, external partners.
  • \n

  • Change Enablement: Support stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption planning for redesigned processes.
  • \n

  • Benefits Tracking: Monitor implementation progress and work with relevant partners to validate benefits against agreed operational and financial targets.
