Position Overview
EGS is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in industrial electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) systems, and Modicon PLCs to support a chemical manufacturing facility in Martin, SC.
The Project Engineer will lead and support capital and maintenance projects, coordinate cross-functional project activities, and ensure technical deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Project Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support engineering projects within a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Manage primarily electrical projects while supporting mechanical, structural, and civil scopes as required.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Design, implement, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Manage project documentation, schedules, budgets, and change orders.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and support Modicon PLC-based control systems.
- Conduct field inspections and equipment evaluations and participate in commissioning.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Support procurement, installation supervision, vendor coordination, and outage activities.
- Perform root-cause analysis on instrumentation failures and develop corrective actions.
- Review technical specifications and vendor submittals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable chemical-industry regulations, environmental requirements, and safety standards. Project Engineer
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of Project Engineering experience, preferably within a chemical or process manufacturing facility.
- Experience with industrial control systems and Modicon PLCs.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electronics, instrumentation, and control logic.
- Capital project and field experience required.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Project Engineer
Preferred: Experience with SCADA/HMI systems, hazardous-area classification, grounding and protective systems, PHA/MOC, SAP, AutoCAD, NEC, ISA, NFPA, and managing capital projects in the approximately $50K–$2M range. Project Engineer
