We are seeking a WordPress Developer to improve our website! Not looking for a super-technical person with advanced coding, but I need more than a bohemian "designer". Working closely with the company founder, we are looking for you to do the following things:
Responsibilities:
- Generate graphic elements to improve the visual appearance, and improve the communication effectiveness of our website.
- Re-design web pages so they are more consistent from page-to-page.
- Improve written content of web pages with a strong focus on SEO.
- Our website is reasonably fast and it should stay this way, or get faster.
- Assess present search engine rankings as a baseline using tools like Wincher, Google Analytics and other tools you like, and monitor improvements over time.
- Technical improvements like fixing broken links, installing image optimization, improving a buggy menu system, search box, etc.
- Create and manage a user feedback page(s).
- Create web site content including simple CAD style graphics and GIFs.
- Taking photos of some of our products. Photo-editing of these images.
- In future, build a shopping cart to replace aging Paypal buttons.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in web development
- Strong aesthetic design sensibility.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong writing and editing.
- Familiarity with Apple computers.
Some work must be on-site in Phelps NY.
