Raytheon is hiring a Software Task Manager to support our teams in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. You will work within the Ground & Maritime Defense Radar Software Department on the Patriot Routing Logic Radio Interface Unit (RLRIU) Software Development Team. Patriot is the world's pre-eminent air defense system, and we are currently developing Patriot communications software in support of new system capabilities.

What You Will Do

Plan and coordinate Software Development activities to ensure completion within schedules and budgets.

Monitor software development progress and resolve issues should any arise.

Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.

Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.

Participate in internal review of software components and systems.

Lead and mentor a small team of software developers.

Report ongoing status to senior leadership via quarterly tracking books.

Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.

Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

This position requires onsite presence and extensive interaction with other groups including Systems Design engineering, System Integration and Test, and the Software Development Team.

Occasional travel may be required.

Off hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) occasionally may also be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with Ada Programming Language
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating System scheduling.
  • Experience with Patriot Software.
  • Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system
  • Active secret security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architectures, software development life cycle and processes.
  • Knowledge of common networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP/IP.
  • Experience producing technical documentation
  • Experience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevOps and test automation.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
