Position Overview:
Avexon is seeking both Level 1 and Level 2 IT Technicians to provide comprehensive technical support in Baton Rouge Parish. Technicians will be responsible for hardware, software, and network troubleshooting; user account management; and providing excellent customer service for a wide range of IT needs. Fieldwork, occasional travel, and lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the initial point of contact for IT service requests and technical incidents.
- Have strong communication skills for consistent customer-facing interactions.
- Troubleshoot, configure, and repair desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and related peripherals.
- Perform software installation, configuration, and updates.
- Manage user accounts and perform password resets in Active Directory.
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting and collaborate with engineers on advanced network and server issues.
- Document service requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Participate in large-scale hardware and software deployments.
- Provide technical support for emergency preparedness efforts and special events.
- Engage in ongoing training and skills development.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support as needed.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Level 1: Experience with basic hardware and software troubleshooting, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Level 2: Advanced troubleshooting skills, experience with enterprise IT environments, and familiarity with network management and Active Directory administration.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel within the parish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA Security + Certified
