Location: Nashua, NH
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7AM-3Pm (9/80 Schedule)
Pay Range: $60-65/hr

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Software Engineer to provide hands-on software and test engineering support within a highly technical factory environment. This position will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing test applications, troubleshooting complex production issues, supporting manufacturing test systems, and performing software development and DMS-related activities in support of an ongoing defense program.

The successful candidate will combine strong NI TestStand and C programming capabilities with hands-on knowledge of electronic test equipment and manufacturing test environments. You'll work as part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team supporting factory operations, investigating hardware/software integration issues, and ensuring critical test applications and systems remain reliable and production-ready.

Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, modify, and enhance existing manufacturing test applications and software systems.
  • Develop and support test applications using NI TestStand and C programming.
  • Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, integration, and production test issues affecting factory operations.
  • Investigate production failures and determine root causes involving test software, test equipment, hardware, or system integration.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing personnel and production test operations.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain applications used to support manufacturing and product testing.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to plan, design, develop, and utilize data processing and test systems.
  • Support the integration of software applications with electronic hardware and test equipment.
  • Interface with laboratory and production test equipment, including oscilloscopes and other electronic instrumentation.
  • Support embedded software and Embedded C applications as required.
  • Perform applicable DMS activities and maintain supporting technical documentation.
  • Work within a small engineering team to prioritize and resolve factory issues while maintaining production schedules.
  • Support ongoing program initiatives by ensuring test applications and associated systems remain reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another technical/scientific discipline that includes formal education in computer and software technology, or equivalent applicable education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing test engineering, test software development, automated test systems, or a closely related technical environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, maintaining, or troubleshooting automated test applications using National Instruments (NI) TestStand.
  • Strong programming experience with C, including development, debugging, and maintenance of existing applications.
  • Experience with Win32 programming.
  • Experience with Embedded C development or support.
  • Experience troubleshooting software and hardware integration issues within a production or engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes and electronic test/measurement equipment.
  • Ability to investigate complex production problems and determine root causes across software, hardware, and test-system interfaces.
  • Experience maintaining and developing applications and software systems throughout their operational lifecycle.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with hardware, software, test, manufacturing, and production personnel.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small technical team in a fast-paced factory environment.
  • Ability to work fully on-site in Nashua, NH.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Test Engineering experience supporting production environments.
  • Experience developing or maintaining automated manufacturing test systems.
  • Experience supporting complex electronic or electromechanical products in a factory setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of NI TestStand, including troubleshooting and modification of existing test sequences and applications.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing programs.
  • Experience troubleshooting production test failures involving both hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, application maintenance, and technical documentation processes.
  • Previous experience supporting manufacturing operations where rapid diagnosis and resolution of production issues is critical.
