Job Title: Test Technician I - Instruments
Location: Sparks, MD 21152 (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Pay Rate: $25/hour on W2
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Job Overview

The Test Technician I is responsible for instrument assembly, system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. This role involves analyzing test data, identifying issues, and ensuring instruments meet performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, integration, and testing of instruments
  • Execute functional and release testing on moderately complex systems
  • Analyze test data to determine pass/fail results
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and basic software issues
  • Identify defects and recommend process or design improvements
  • Optimize system performance based on testing outcomes
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications
  • Train and support team members on testing and assembly processes
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams
  • Follow GMP, safety, and quality standards
  • Perform material handling and production support tasks
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Kaizen)
  • Work overtime as needed

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics or related field
    OR
  • 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting

Technical Skills

  • Experience with instrument testing and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of GMP and quality procedures
  • Basic computer skills (Windows environment)
  • Strong math and analytical skills
