Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating manufacturing projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and according to quality and operational objectives. This role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Global Teams to drive new product introductions (NPI), capacity expansion, automation initiatives, process improvements, and manufacturing readiness activities. The Manufacturing Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for project execution and ensures successful delivery of manufacturing programs. Based on similar internal manufacturing program and NPI responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead manufacturing projects from planning through execution and final closure.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed successfully.
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing transfer projects.
- Ensure manufacturing readiness, including tooling, equipment, documentation, staffing, and training.
- Support production ramp-ups and manufacturing capacity expansion initiatives.
- Lead process improvement and operational excellence projects.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, and Global Business teams.
- Serve as the liaison between plant operations and corporate/global stakeholders.
- Conduct project review meetings and provide project status updates to leadership.
- Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and automation initiatives.
- Support digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 projects.
- Promote best practices, process standardization, and continuous improvement across manufacturing
Experience:
- 5–8 years of manufacturing experience.
- 3–5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing NPI, automation, facility expansion, process improvement, or manufacturing transformation projects.
- Experience working with global and cross-functional teams.
