Job Title: Reliability Technician
Job Description
This Reliability Technician role focuses on ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of manufacturing equipment within a highly technical production environment. You will inspect and maintain continuous motion machines, troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical issues, and support engineering and manufacturing teams by applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The position offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support investigations such as CAPA and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities
- Inspect manufacturing equipment regularly to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems using engineering principles and diagnostic tools.
- Work with continuous motion machines and automation equipment to identify, analyze, and resolve performance issues.
- Execute and support preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to support production goals and equipment improvements.
- Use manufacturing and engineering software to document maintenance activities, track issues, and support equipment performance analysis.
- Support investigations such as Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis to address recurring issues and improve reliability.
- Perform repairs and adjustments on pharmaceutical, plastics, and industrial equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate and support automation engineering systems, including cleanroom-compatible equipment where required.
- Manage and track parts and components needed for maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment availability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while working on manufacturing and automation equipment.
Essential Skills
- 5 or more years of experience working with pharmaceutical, plastics, or industrial equipment in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting continuous motion machines and automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Intermediate computer skills with manufacturing and engineering software applications.
- Experience working in or supporting cleanroom environments and assembly operations.
- Strong analytical mindset with a demonstrated passion for investigations such as CAPA and root cause analysis.
- Preferred to have experience in pharma, plastics, or industrial equipment maintenance and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to support and execute preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical domains within an electro-mechanical context.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent engineering experience.
- Relevant technical certifications related to electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems are highly valued.
- Experience with automation engineering and continuous motion machinery from various manufacturers.
- Familiarity with manufacturing engineering practices and manufacturing equipment support.
- Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and collaborate with technical leadership.
- Strong communication skills to document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented approach to maintenance documentation, investigations, and equipment performance tracking.
Work Environment
You will work in a small, collaborative department alongside approximately 4–5 other team members, reporting into the technical leadership structure. The role follows a single day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment includes exposure to manufacturing and engineering operations, continuous motion machines, automation equipment, and potentially cleanroom and assembly areas. You will use manufacturing and engineering software tools as part of daily activities. The dress code includes jeans, closed-toe shoes, and a long-sleeve top, reflecting a practical and safety-conscious workplace. The setting emphasizes teamwork, technical problem-solving, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Congers, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.41 - $46.41/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
