About the Role
Sustainability Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Land Development to lead on- and offsite civil engineering projects across Arizona. This role is ideal for a licensed civil engineer with 4–8 years of experience in land development or public works who is ready to manage projects, mentor junior staff, and strengthen client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for land development projects, including grading, drainage, roadways, stormwater, and utilities.
- Supervise and mentor project engineers and junior staff, fostering collaboration and technical growth.
- Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring clear communication, strong relationships, and successful delivery.
- Oversee preliminary and detailed design work, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, and resources to meet client and company goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks, keeping projects on time and within budget.
- Contribute to business development by supporting proposals and participating in client presentations.
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in land development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- 4-8 years of progressive experience in land development and/or public works, transportation, drainage, and utilities engineering and project management.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, codes, regulations, and standards related to land development.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and guiding junior staff.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles, codes, regulations, and standards relevant to land development.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, including managing budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing project demands.
- Familiarity with construction processes and project management methodologies is advantageous.
Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
•Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
•Experience: 4–8 years in civil engineering with a focus on land development and/or public works.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software.
•Knowledge: Strong understanding of land development codes, standards, and construction processes.
•Leadership: Proven ability to manage projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across teams.
