Job Description

Job Description

Role Purpose
The Data Governance Manager supports the design, implementation, adoption, and ongoing operation of data governance capabilities that enable trusted master data across Fusion. Working with the Data Governance Head, business stakeholders, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and project teams, this role establishes practical minimum viable governance processes and embeds a light-touch operating model into everyday business operations.

This position is a bridge between business and technology and a hands-on change agent: helping people understand, adopt, and confidently own governance practices rather than simply enforcing process.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance Implementation

  • Define, document, and implement minimum viable governance processes for Fusion master data management.
  • Embed governance controls, decisions, and accountabilities across business units and shared services; ensure they are practical, scalable, and business-aligned.

Governance Roles and Accountability

  • Define the responsibilities of Data Owners, Data Owner Delegates, Data Stewards, and System Representatives.
  • Help the MDM and Data Governance Head identify and onboard people into governance roles.
  • Guide new owners and stewards personally through their first stewardship cycles; grow their confidence and independence.
  • Promote clear accountability for data quality, ownership, and decisions.

Governance Measures and Reporting

  • Define governance success measures, KPIs, and value indicators.
  • Monitor adoption, data quality improvement, and business outcomes; contribute governance reporting and management information.

Process and Workflow

  • Facilitate UAT and post-go-live governance processes and Oracle EDM workflows.
  • Collect stakeholder feedback; continually refine workflows, guidance, and governance artifacts based on real-world usage.

Governance Forums and Coordination

  • Support governance forums, working groups, and decision bodies, including agendas, decisions, actions, and follow-up.
  • Encourage collaboration across business units, shared services, and technology teams, ensuring all voices are included.

Documentation and Artifacts

  • Maintain governance operating model materials, processes, role descriptions, RACI models, standards, procedures, and decision logs.
  • Keep documentation up to date and aligned to agreed ways of working.

Training, Adoption, and BAU Transition

  • Create and deliver training, awareness materials, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions for new and experienced stakeholders.
  • Support organizational adoption of governance tools, processes, and controls.
  • Hand over sustainable processes, artifacts, and responsibilities to business-as-usual (BAU) governance and Fusion teams, with knowledge transfer and coaching.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business, Technology, or related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Master Data Management, or related work, including governance initiatives in a complex organization.
  • Experience delivering governance or MDM initiatives and documenting business processes, roles, and operating models.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, communication, presentation, and organizational coordination.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into accessible, practical guidance and build training and adoption materials.
  • Collaborative, patient, people-focused change-management approach with hands-on coaching of newly appointed owners and stewards.
  • Technical skills specified for the role: Azure Data Lake, Oracle, Oracle Enterprise Data Management (EDM), and Snowflake.

Preferred Experience

  • Oracle EDM or similar MDM platform experience.
  • Data Quality and Data Governance programs; stewardship frameworks, operating models, and accountability structures.
  • Large, multi-business-unit environments; change management and business adoption; mentoring or coaching people new to a process.

Key Deliverables

  • Minimum viable governance processes and role/accountability framework.
  • Oracle EDM governance workflows and operating-model documentation.
  • Governance forum materials and action tracking.
  • Training and adoption materials, governance measures, and reporting framework.
  • BAU handover documentation and capable, supported Data Owners and Stewards.
