Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen and guide enterprise security efforts in Texas. This position combines technical depth with leadership, overseeing security architecture, operational defenses, and long-term improvement initiatives across a complex environment. The role is well suited for an individual who can shape strategy, support team development, and remain actively involved in engineering and incident response work.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the design and ongoing improvement of enterprise security solutions spanning network, endpoint, cloud, and application environments.
• Establish and maintain the security engineering roadmap, technical standards, reference designs, and maturity goals for the broader cybersecurity program.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to security engineers and analysts across multiple security disciplines.
• Assess, implement, and optimize security platforms and tools while managing vendor relationships and technical performance expectations.
• Lead identity and access security initiatives, including architecture planning, privileged access controls, conditional access approaches, and least-privilege enforcement.
• Oversee the vulnerability management program by defining scanning methods, prioritizing remediation based on risk, tracking service levels, and coordinating penetration testing activities.
• Act as a senior escalation resource during complex investigations and major security events, driving containment, recovery, and post-incident review efforts.
• Advance detection engineering and threat hunting capabilities by incorporating intelligence insights into defensive monitoring and response strategies.
• Develop, refine, and enforce cybersecurity policies, hardening baselines, and control requirements to improve enterprise-wide protection.
• Communicate security risks, program progress, and incident status clearly to technical stakeholders and leadership teams.• At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a closely related field, with demonstrated technical leadership responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or another relevant discipline.
• Strong hands-on background in cybersecurity engineering, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and security operations.
• Experience working with firewall technologies, Microsoft Defender, configuration management, and security-focused system hardening practices.
• Practical knowledge of incident response processes, threat analysis, security mitigation techniques, and investigation support.
• Familiarity with recognized cybersecurity frameworks and standards used to guide enterprise security programs.
• Ability to use scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Python to support operational efficiency and security engineering tasks.
• Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
